chessboards and chess pieces to play chess on the
table while sitting on a chair. This is probably held at one
of the elderly's house to play the chess.
(I) The things are there because
they need the chess pieces to play ,the table to
support the chess piece and the chairs for them to sit.
They use their brains to think how to win the opponent
and the hands to move their chess pieces. They are probably
bored so they decided to call each other out to play chess
with each other and also to take it as entertainment time
to relax.
(I) I wonder where are they playing the chess at? I wonder if the
both of them are friends or couple and also who is better in
playing chess. I wonder if they can get stuck over playing the
chess for a very long time?

(O)I see a sign " Reserved seating " above an empty
seat in a MRT train. There are probably not much
people in the train because it could still be early in
the morning. The sign " Reserved seating " above
the empty are meant for those disabled, pregnant,
elderly and people with young children(needy people).
(I) The sign is there so that it can raise awareness to
everybody that these range of people need the seats.
The normal people are giving up their seats to those
needy people who need to sit. The needy people
may not handle the situation like for example, the train is
shaking vigorously and those needy people may lose their
balance and fall so those normal people give their seats to
let those needy people sit. The train is filled up with so much
people and those people who are standing are those normal
people and those people sitting are those needy people.
(I) I think that some people may fake that they are injured or what
so that they are able to sit down without fighting for the seats. I
wonder why are there only two seats specially for those needy people
,especially at a corner of the train?
Type of needs: Social needs |
happily using their handphones to communicate with
other people, probably their friends or families. They
may also other than calling people to talk to them, they
can also send messages to their friends or families.
(I) They need the phones to be able to communicate with their
friends or relatives. They are using their handphones to talk
with their friends or families or sending a message to their friends
or families. They miss their friends or feel bored so they decided
to chat with them. Maybe they also think that calling to chat with their
friends is troublesome so they decided to send a message to chat with
them.
(I) I wonder if they think that handphones are important, as in order to
communicate with their friends or families because when they were
younger, there weren't such a technology like handphones. I wonder
if they think that handphones meant everything to them, and that they
could not survive without handphones?
Type of needs: Emotional needs |
who are happily smiling together at probably one of
the elderly's house. They probably took the photos of
themselves being elated because they want to keep
photo as a memento.
(I) The camera is there so that they are able to take the photo
of them being happy and keep the photo as a memento. The
elderly are showing their super white teeth while smiling very
happily as if they have gotten their wish that all the while they
could not fulfilled being fulfilled. They are smiling at the camera
so that the photo they taken with the camera shows that they are
being elated. The elderly took the picture so that when next time
they refer to their photo album, they can remember that they
had a photo of them smiling very happily with their friends
before.
(I) I wonder are the elderly people friends a not or are they taking
the photo because of the photographer's request and also they
are getting paid by the photographer so as to take a picture of them
happy and post it to "Google" so that people can take the photo as a
reference. I wonder if their smile are genuine as some people when
they post for photos, their smiles may not be real.( = Fake smile)
